Eastern Triduum
The summit of the Liturgical Year is the Easter Triduum—from the evening of Holy Thursday to the evening of Easter Sunday. Though chronologically three days, they are liturgically one day unfolding for us the unity of Christ's Paschal Mystery.
The single celebration of the Triduum marks the end of the Lenten season, and leads to the Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord at the Easter Vigil.
The liturgical services that take place during the Triduum are:
-
Mass of the Lord's Supper
-
Good Friday of the Lord's Passion
-
Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord
Holy Thursday
March 28th, 2024
This Mass commemorates the Last Supper, during which Christ instituted the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, the Sacrament of Holy Orders, and gave us His commandment to love one another. After the homily, following the example of Christ who washed the feet of the Apostles at the Last Supper, the Priest will wash the feet of 12 parishioners at Mass.
Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament will continue from the conclusion of Mass until 11:00 p.m. 10:45 PM Night Prayer
